WELCOME TO JAI PRAKASH MAHILA COLLEGE

“Necessity is the Mother of Invention” an old and significant saying came true in the event of establishment of Jai Prakash Mahila College, Chapra. One evening in 1955, the founder of this college, a renowned socio-political worker Sri Kapil Deo Prasad Srivastava was attainting a function in the premises of famous Rajendra College, Chapra, suddenly the light has gone, and taking the benefit of darkness, some unwanted rowdy elements started teasing the girl students of the college, though the then principal of Rajendra College, Dr. Manoranjan Prasad Sinha boldly and tactfully handled the situation and saved girls from untoward happenings. After a marathon meetings, it was finally resolved unanimously by the endorsement of renowned advocate of Chapra Late Visheshwar Dayal Singh and the task of establishment of the college has been assigned to Sri Kapil Deo Prasad Srivastava, subsequently a governing body has been constituted and first finance minister of Bihar Dr. Anugrah Narayan Singh has been nominated president and the then District Magistrate of Chapra was nominated Dy.
